Forest School
We are delighted to be able to offer Forest School adventures during and after school from our Highcroft Villas site!
Forest School is a child-centred, inspirational learning process and encourages play, exploration and supported risk taking. It aims to develop confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting. Each class has access to Forest School, usually once per week, a class at a time.
Forest School is run by Mrs Frier, alongside the Class Teacher and Teaching Assistant.
Some activities the children engage in are… building bug hotels, building dens, creating mazes, potato peeling whittling and campfire cooking... to name a few!

Children will need to wear clothing that is both appropriate for the weather and for exploring the woodland. As we already have a relaxed uniform, not much needs to change, as long as they have full-length trousers/jogging bottoms/leggings and a sweatshirt/jumper or fleece on. They will need a warm coat, ideally waterproof with a hood, gloves and woolly hat. Finally, they need boots/trainers or wellies with warm socks!
Forest School
A huge “thank you” to the PTFA for continuing to fund this project and for all your support. Without your generosity at school events, we would not be able to put this vision into practice!
Wood and Wild After School Club
Mrs Frier runs a popular after school club on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays - click here to find out more.
